Visual Stress and Colorimetry

At our open Day have a chat with Dr Caroline Wilson, our dedicated specialist Children’s Optometrist if you are concerned about your child.  In some cases, reading difficulties can be caused by vision problems such as long-sightedness, astigmatism or problems coordinating the eyes. This can be identified at an initial assessment.

It might be that the patient is struggling with Visual Stress – sometimes known as Meares-Irlen Syndrome. We have found that coloured overlays can help reduce the condition.  A further in-depth analysis can have even better results, using our intuitive Colorimeter, which chooses the perfect colour from thousands of combinations. This is made up into a pair of spectacles, which can in many cases, can improving reading ability. Your child then has the freedom to read books, use their computer and view the whiteboard.

Myopia Management

Myopia (short-sightedness) can affect your child’s vision now and may likely worsen, as the child grows up. It can also lead to an increased risk of developing serious eye health conditions in adulthood.
Myopia starts from an early age and increases as your child grows. But you can do something to slow it down.

Find out all about the options if your child is Myopic.  We will screen every child who attends the Open Day to see if they have Myopia or are at risk of becoming Myopic.  Then we can look at how to manage it.

Overnight vision correction

Overnight vision correction using Eyedream reusable contact lenses can release your child to be able to do activities they thought not possible now they wear glasses or contact lenses.

Chat with Tim, our contact lens expert on the day about how Eyedream has helped loads of kids in our area, like Sam here who is an award-winning boarder and wore Eyedream overnight whilst competing during the day.

Tim can advise on how these specialist lenses can also help with Myopia management.
